Hit up one of the oldest Jamaican bakeries in NYC! 🇯🇲 Growing up in New York, I would often eat beef patties. However, this was my first time at Kingston Tropical Bakery and I went with Adam Kuban (Social Director of NYC Tourism)! The bakery was founded in 1970 by Jamaican immigrants John and Jessie Levi to serve the growing Caribbean community. Next time, I’ll have to try their meatloaf (coco bread with beef patty filling)! Please note it’s cash-only! 📍Kingston Tropical Bakery (4000 White Plains Rd, Bronx, NY) • • • #jamaicanfood #nycfood #beefpatty #foodvlog #jamaican

This unconventional $6 “Chinese Burger” is something I always look forward to! The vendor, 高小爬 (Gāo Xiǎo Pá), made a traditional version of this dish for years. However, he decided to focus on chicken thighs when he opened his business last year. This time, I was able to draw him while I ate my order! Please bring cash! 📍Gāo Xiǎo Pá (41-39 Kissena Blvd, Flushing, New York) 🎥:@Lets Roll Out NYC • • • #nycfood #foodvlog #newyorkcityfood #flushingqueens #roujiamo
Was craving Filipino comfort food 🇵🇭 There are actually only a handful of full-time Filipino food trucks in NYC and @swabefoodtruck offers some classics like pares mami, lumpia, beef tapa, and more! 📍Swabe Food Truck (between 54th & 55th Ave, Queens Blvd, Queens, NY) • • • #filipinofood #nycfood #foodvlog #newyorkcityfood #filipino
One of the best meals I can think of! 🇮🇳 I was curious how Hyderabadi Biryani is made and Hyderabadi Zaiqa was generous enough to show me their technique 🙏 This is a dish I can’t get enough of. So fragrant and aromatic - the layering of flavors of “Kacchi Dum” biryani is so complex! 📍Hyderabadi Zaiqa (785 9th Ave, New York, NY) • • • #biryani #indianfood #nycfood #foodvlog #newyorkcityfood

Did you know this is one of the oldest German family-run restaurants in America? I drew some of the food and drink I had - it was fun drawing (and drinking) from the Das Boot glass 😂 The pretzel + wurst platter were awesome! I liked how this one turned out so I turned it into a print! Available on my site: hungryartistny.com under “Paper Prints!” 📍Heidelberg (1648 2nd Ave, New York, NY) • • • #nycfood #nycartist #livesketch #germanfood #newyorkcityfood
Day 8 of making someone's day with my art! I visited one of NYC's favorite bakeries (Radio Bakery), right when they opened to try and draw their pastries (including their seasonal croissants)! It was fun drawing during their morning rush, and I loved meeting the Radio Bakery team + some fellow customers! @Toast #ToastPartner • • • #nycfood #livesketch #nycartist #watercolorart
Tried Haitian-inspired plantain pizza and I loved it 🇭🇹 It did put me into a hyperbolic sleep chamber-induced food coma though 😂 @Bunnan BK has plantain pizza toppings such as smoked herring, griot, goat, queen conch, and more! 📍BunNan(1248 Flatbush Ave, Brooklyn, NY) • • • #haitianfood #haitian #nycfood #newyorkcityfood #foodvlog
Day 9 of making someone’s day with my art! I had a mean craving for a pastrami egg & cheese so I hit up @GERTIE. It was cool seeing their team hand-roll their bagels during peak breakfast hours - busy doesn’t slow them down! Also, I am now addicted to their black & white cookie latte @Toast #ToastPartner • • • #nycfood #nycartist #livesketch #drawfood
Perhaps you’ve seen the Chinese street food carts that sell “Chinese pizza!” It’s super delicious, but it’s actually a sauce-fragrant flatbread called Jiàng Xiāng Bǐng (醬香餅). I recently spent a day in Flushing so I picked some up for a quick snack! 📍New York Cai Ge (37-12 Prince St, Queens, NY) • • • #nycfood #foodvlog #chinesefood #chinesestreetfood #flushingqueens
This is the spot for Afghan kababs in NYC! 🇦🇫 Since 2016, Sami’s Kabab House has become well-known for their amazing kabab options and other Afghan dishes. I met up with the legend, Sami, himself – and transparently, I’ve been friends with Sami’s son for over a decade. However, I’m not even trying to be biased when I tell you that the accolades they’ve achieved is so well deserved! Sami’s Kabab House’s (📍35-57 Crescent St, Queens, New York) offers various chicken, lamb, and seafood kabab options. Their kababs, kofta, and other dishes are incredible for a family-style meal. It’s best to go with a group, because this will allow everyone to try as many dishes as possible. Their kababs typically range between $18 to $28 and make sure to get them served on a bed of delicious Kabuli Pulao. You’re able to build your own family-style platter and the number of kababs that you should order really depends on how many people you go with. The first thing I noticed is how the tender meats are spiced and layered with flavor. Plus, it’s essential to order their lamb shank which literally falls off the bone! Other classics include Sami’s Mantu (steamed dumplings which are stuffed with beef, onions,
What Indonesian dishes should I try?! 🇮🇩 I really want to try more Indonesian food so I met up with my friend, Francis at @Awangkitchennyc. Man.. this was a great decision Awang Kitchen (📍8405 Queens Blvd Ste 1C, Queens, NY) features a bunch of traditional Indonesian dishes along with other options. We tried their Nasi Telor with fried chicken and beef rendang. Not only is this perhaps the best fried egg I’ve ever had.. But, the shallots, sweet soy sauce, and sambal embraced that rice with amazing flavor! There were also goat skewers which were fragrant from its coriander spice mix. The skewers were accompanied with an incredible sauce which was spicy, sweet, acidic and savory at the same time. The Nasi Imput, or compressed rice, is the perfect vessel for that sauce! #indonesian #indonesianfood #indonesiancuisine #nasitelor #skewers #southeastasianfood #nycfood #newyorkcityfood #queensfood #elmhurst #elmhurstqueens #indonesiafood #nyceats #foodstories #foodvlog #eatingnewyork #nyceats #nasiimpit #asianfood #asianfoodie
One of the best burgers I’ve had in recent memory! 🤤 I’ve wanted to visit BK Jani for a while to try their burger with Pakistani spices/flavors. It was great meeting Sibte - stay tuned as I got to surprise him with my drawing! While I visited, I also tried their Lahori (Seekh kabab-inspired) burger, beef tikka kebab, and lamb chops. It was all so good! 📍BK Jani (679 Grand St, Brooklyn, NY) 🎥: @Lets Roll Out NYC • • • #foodvlog #pakistanifood #nycburger #burgers #nycfood
Is this NYC’s BEST Halal Cart? I’ve been going to @Adels famous for about 9 years now and it still hits for me every single time! Their chicken and lamb over spicy rice with extravagant amounts of white sauce and hot sauce is one of my favorite cheat meals. Their mixed chicken and lamb platter is $9 and comes with rice (spicy or regular), lettuce, and pita. You can add fries for an additional $2 and besides the essentials of white sauce and hot sauce… I also like going for a bit of chutney. 📍Adel’s Famous Halal Food (SW Corner of 49th St & 6th Ave, New York, NY) Have you been to Adel’s? I am working on an art piece to help fundraise for Hen House so please stay tuned! Hen House (📍120 1st Ave, New York, NY) seriously blew me away. This halal hand-pulled noodle spot makes their noodles fresh for each order! 🍜 At @OldsportFood Noodles, besides their signature Lanzhou Beef Noodle Soup… I also tried their spicy Braised Beef Noodle Soup and Da Pan Ji (大盤雞) “Big Plate Chicken.” To me - their noodles are all amazing… but the Da Pan Ji still makes my mouth water as I type this 😂 📍Old Sport Noodle (67-03 Austin St, Queens, NY) • • • #handpullednoodles #chinesenoodles #nycfood #newyorkcityfood #foodvlog
Trying Pakistani chopped cheese and surprising @Nishaan | Pakistani Chopped 🧀 with my artwork! I tried Nishaan’s Chapli Kabob Chopped Cheese, Bihari Barbacoa Tacos, and Buffalo Tandoori Chicken Sandwich (menu is fully Zabiha Halal). Fire! Nishaan (📍160 1st Ave, New York, NY) just opened their brick and mortar a few months ago and I love the simplicity and casual warmth of this place! 🎥: @NYC Got Games • • • #choppedcheese #pakistani #nycfood #livesketch #eastvillage
This is the oldest Malaysian restaurant in NYC! We’re at West New Malaysia, where I met with Alvin and his father, to learn about the story of their family business. West New Malaysia (📍69 Bayard St, New York, NY) has been around for over 50 years. In the 70’s, Alvin’s grandma learned pizza-making at an Italian restaurant. She took over when the owner retired, but usiness was slow so she boldly switched to serving traditional Malaysian food. Eventually, Alvin’s parents headed the restaurant and signature dishes like Hainanese Chicken Rice, Char Kway Teow, Sarang Burung, Roti Chanai, and their other signature dishes became well known within the Chinatown community. 🎥: @NYC Got Games • • • #malaysianfood #malaysiancuisine #malaysian #chinatownnyc #nycchinatown
Follow me for more NYC eats! Little Flower Cafe (📍25-35 36th Ave, Queens, NY) is a modern Zabiha Halal NYC café! READ BELOW 👇 for more info! Little Flower opened last summer. The café offers modern food and drink options that emphasize Afghan ingredients and flavors. Little Flower aims to bring together the café owners’ Afghan and New York experience. While they also offer some amazing savory food options, this video focuses on their pastries. All of their pastries are made in-house and are creative and exciting. For example, I truly loved their Firni Donut, Turmeric Bun, and Cardamon Knot. Plus, Little Flower also features seasonal options such as their Strawberry Shortcake Danish. Their Firni Donut is topped with pistachio and burnt glazed sugar and filled with a cardamom and rosewater custard (paying homage to Afghan Firni). Meanwhile, their Turmeric Bun is made with croissant dough and is lathered with Mascarpone frosting. Finally, their Cardamon Knot and Strawberry Shortcake Danish involve expert lamination and have amazing texture and fragrance! Visited one of the only Moroccan halal street food vendors in NYC! 🇲🇦 It was a pleasure to meet Youssef of @The casbah halal carts, who came to America with $100 in his pocket. Nowadays, he’s not only serving chicken/lamb over rice - but, Moroccan dishes that he grew up eating. Plus, I was pretty in awe of his tea pouring skills 😂 Really enjoyed everything I tried in this video! However, if you’re in the mood for couscous + spiced veggies - they serve this on Friday’s between 12-7pm! 📍The Casbah Halal Cart (Broadway & W 67th St, New York, NY) 🎥: @Lets Roll Out NYC • • • #newyorkcityfood #moroccanfood #nycfood #halalfood #foodvlog
