We know NYC is a simulation because where else would people wait two plus hours and pay $40 for cheese pizza 🙂‍↔️ Ceres has been the hot topic in the NYC pizza community since debuting off Mott St this year. Opened by Eleven Madison Park alums and rated a 9.2 by critic Dave Portnoy, this pizza is SUCH a struggle to get. Only open Wed-Sun. Pre-orders start at 11:30 and IN PERSON SAME DAY orders taken only. 5 pie choices and you can order only whole pies. Average quoted time for takeout was 1.5-2.5 hours, and they only make ~150 pies right now, often selling out by 6. Looked like service was a bit quicker if you chose to dine in though. Plus it’s probably the most expensive cheese pizza I’ve ever had. Verdict: It’s a good pizza. Hard to say *best* in NYC given personal preferences and so many other creative options, but definitely top 10, top 5? # 1 for me in crisp and ingredients category, to the point that the price tag might actually be justifiable. And it HAS to be eaten fresh. 30 min later the wow factor from the crisp was already gone 😔. Unfortunately cannot justify the wait. It’s a good pizza, but I feel like I should be able to get a slice and go 😩. Would you ever pay this mu
